Botox – FAQ
How Much Botox Or Dysport Will I Need?
How much Botox or Dysport a client needs varies depending on the severity of the wrinkles and the desired results. It’s also important to remember that if a regular schedule of Botox or Dysport is kept, the amount needed during each treatment often declines.
How Quickly Will I See The Results?
Botox results are normally noticed in 3-5 days. Clients who use Dysport may see results in 2-4 days. Both treatments may take as long as two weeks before the full effect is realized.
What Is The Downtime After Receiving Botox Or Dysport?
None. There may be redness at the injection site but it is usually gone within a few minutes.
How Long Does The Procedure Take?
The procedure can take 15 minutes or less. Since there is no downtime, a client can get injections and then immediately go out in public without fear of being obvious that they have received treatment.
Do Botox injections hurt?
Botox and Dysport are injected with a very tiny needle. Most clients say that the injections feel similar to a tiny pin prick.
Will I be able to make facial expressions?
Yes. Of course you are looking for visible results, but Botox will not radically change your facial appearance or make you look as if you’ve “had work done.” The muscle activity that causes, for example, frown lines between the brows are temporarily reduced by Botox. After the treatment you can still frown and look surprised, just without the wrinkles and lines between your brows.
What are the side effects of Botox?
Side effects are rare and temporary. As with all injection procedures, there can be some minor bruising (that can be easily diminished with makeup), redness, infection, swelling or a slight, short term headache. However, most patients do not experience any side effects at all.
